First start at the beginning of the dua, why do you think this dua starts particularly with the beautiful names Hayy and Qayyum? There must be some connection with these Asma e Husna and the dua. Something is being asked to be brought into existence and be kept sustained. We see it later in the dua with the words qalb and ma'rifath. Meaning, "O Allah swt You give life and You sustain life, so bring my dead qalb into life with Your gnosis (ma'rifath) and keep it sustained in that condition." In duas, first notice the Asma e Husna that are used and link them to what is being asked. For example in the dua for Salaat Haajat the Asma "Haleem" and "Kareem" are used. These two Asma will explain the entire dua. "You are the haleem, forbearing, tolerant, overlook my sins by Your quality of haleem and then have generosity (karam) upon me with Your quality of generosity (kareem) and fulfill this need of mine."
