I also have a cat and I was told that it is virtuous (do not know about Sunnah....?) to look after it, we have cats freely walking in and out of the masjid and no one bothers them.

yeah my when my dad came back from hajj he bought back a recording on his camera... there were little kittens just outside masjid un nabi.... n people wer just walkin past and petting them, everyone seemed to know they are safe and no one will harm them......

Imagine .....those cats might be decendants of the cats from our prophets time !!!!!
