I think it's wrong to keep animals captive as pets (different if keeping them in some useful capacity), especially animals that are used to free range and large spaces (birds and fish), unless you have the means and space to really give them a good habitat to live in. Or you could always visit the zoo.

How would you like it if someone restricted your movement to a tiny little cage or tank?

Also I think money could be spent in better ways.
