I'm new here, I wish I'll have a good time and learn more, while (hopefully) helping as much as I can. I've been wondering for a while now about Islam in the modern world. We all know that Muslims have been in pretty bad shape since WWI, mainly because the Ottoman Empire was gone, and it was the only Muslim great power. Another cause probably is that the English and French divided the Arab lands into smaller states. BUT, things have changed, and there were even talks of Arab Unity, which for unknown region have failed. Before that, the Arab Israeli wars were pretty hard hitting and exhausting for newly established Jordan, Egypt and Syria. The Pakistan-India wars, Iraq wars in 1991 and 2003, the later removed Saddam from power and replaced him with a Shia government who are more loyal to Iran. Also the conflict in Afghanistan between Taliban and the USSR which, then the occupation of Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks. The Lebanon war in 2006 and the Gaza war in (not sure) 2009. Now we witness the "Arab Spring" which began in Jan-2011, and removed many Arab leaders from power, with revolutions still going on with catastrophic civilian casualties in Yemen, and a civil war in the scope in Syria. Now, why do you think all these things happen, is it just because every great nation has to fall eventually (Rome, Constantinople, Persia, USSR)? Or is it just politics and nothing to do with Religion? Mere coincidence? Please share your thoughts.
