I think what you say is right, we should know that the west were uncivilized and backwards when the Islamic state was prospering, I think what propelled them to the top was dominating the trade with India and China without passing through the Muslim lands, through the west and south of Mount of good hope. The Mongolian conquest of Baghdad, which was the caliphate capitol, may have had some effect, before being driven off by the Mamelukes. So many reasons and factors, I guess.

the west is still uncivilised in terms of way of life, but your right they have succeeded in imperial aims such as trade and military and technology and thats why thwy managed to over power us (accompanied by teh fact that Allah didnt will honour for us due to our pathetic state).

we need to regroup and get ourselves back togetehr. we cant aim for little statelets with AK-47's as we'll get invaded over and over. we need strong nation states built upon islam inshallah. in intend to contribute my western education in electronic engineering to that cuase inshallah, its a small contributiong but if many have teh same intention inshallah we can build a powerful state in the sunni blocs if they cooperate together
