Assalamu 'alaykum,

It sounds very much like a dessert called 'Sujji Ka Halva' - thats a dessert made from those EXACT ingedients except that the main flour used is semolina and not barley. I wonder if Sujji ka halva began with Barley as it's main ingredient and over the years changed to semolina...

JazakAllahu khairan for the idea - could try it with Barley instead!
BarakAllah, it might be similar.
I found this on sunnipath:

VIII. Al-talbina* for someone who is ill

5365. It is related from 'Urwa that 'A'isha used to command that talbina be prepared for a sick person and for someone suffering grief due to the loss of someone. She said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'Talbina gives rest to the heart of the sick person and removes some of his sorrow."

5366. It is related from Hisham's father ('Urwa) that 'A'isha used to command that talbina [be prepared] and said, "It is nasty but is beneficial."

[* Talbina is a soup made of flour or bran and milk and sweetened with honey.]
