On that account it could even be said that Jannah is not the objective, right?

Its not that Jannah is not objective but worshiping Allah for his pleasure alone is a good thing.. Abu Bakr As-Sideeq (ra) used to worship Allah not for reward but He said that Allah deserves to be worshiped. That does not mean that one should not covet Jannah or longing for Jannah is a bad thing.

Read Hasan Al Basris take on this if you are interested in finding out the objective. The greatest and the ultimate reward is Deedat of the king of kings, The most sublime, the Most beneficient and the most Merciful.

Bro, what you said is right doing deeds for the pleasure of Allah alone is good. But longing for reward in the Akhirah and Jannah is not a 'teenage' mindset as you described earlier. There are numerous examples that the Sahabah asking about the rewards and being motivated hearing it. There is nothing wrong in it.

Hadrat Uthman bin Affan (ra) asked Rasoolullah if he will get a fountain in Jannah if he buys the well of Roomah for the Muslim. Now can we call that a 'teenage' mindset? NO.

P.s. Brother Nomadic please be careful when using words like teenage mindset, ski mask, ninja etc to describe Islam. You will nullify your good contributions of knowledge with such irresponsible remarks. Perhaps you or the mods can delete the posts, but it is permanent in Allah's book. You know that better than me Akhi. May Allah forgive us for our bad remarks. Ameen.
