Graves are places but Barzakh is not a place. it is kind of another world running parallel to this world. Souls of common people cannot leave that world to communicate with others. If you see any common person in dream, it is by no means true that you met his/her soul. jazazkallah

Yes, brother, you're right when you put it that way. So building on what you said, one grave is the grave that we see, 6 feet below the earth. But the other grave is part of barzakh, which is usually invisible to us, either a ditch of hellfire or garden of paradise. How exactly the two are linked, the material world and the barzakh, Allah knows best.

As I said before, whether or not a soul is allowed to travel around in barzakh is up to Allah. If He wills, he can allow even the soul of a commoner to travel. So if you see a person in a dream, it may or may not be the case that your soul has met their soul. And Allah knows best.
