Default Reading the Bible and Torah as Muslims
As salamu alaikum
Hope everyone is in the best of health and imaan, insha'Allah

I was thinking back to my first visit to the small mosque in Southport (this was almost two years ago now) and I remember seeing the New Testament on the bookshelf there. Obviously, the Holy Qur'an is the Word of Allah and the Book of Islam, and is the one along with the hadith that we should allow follow first and foremost. However, I've seen that there is some debate over whether reading the Bible, the Torah etc. is haraam.

I know that the Bible has been altered and, well, pretty much messed with over time and the Qur'an, al-hamdullilah, is the only Book that hasn't been.

So yeah, basically, what is your viewpoint on the reading of the Bible and the Torah? And is the reading of them haraam?

Wa alaikum us salam ♥
