I don't know about magic tricks, but might I suggest juggling for those who are looking for a new way to entertain their kids? It's not that hard to learn a few basic techniques with 3 balls, and kids love it. Easiest to learn with actual juggling balls, but once you do, you can juggle any old item. My 1 1/2 year old nephew loves it.
