Here's a small list of activities undertaken by one MSA. I am not sure if this is a common list or not. Also, different MSA chapters have Facebook pages which will allow you to directly pose your question and also discover other students in your area who may be willing to help you out. NEW STUDENT ARRIVAL ASSISTANCE: MSA assists new students with airport pickups and temporary accommodation. We continuously strives to make students transition smooth and enjoyable in this new home.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM: The MSA regularly hold weekly meetings (Halaqa) on Friday evenings at the Islamic Center. In addition, we frequently invite guest speakers from various areas of expertise.

SPORTS AND RECREATION: MSA organizes various sports and recreation activities e.g. family picnics, sports nights and soccer tournaments to enhance social aspect of the student community life.

OUTREACH: It is very important to contribute positively to the community we live in. Especially in a framework that embodies diverse faiths, cultures and demographic affliations. We continuously strive to provide a platform towards better understanding and co-operation among various communities on campus.

STUDENTS RIGHTS AND COUNSELING: The MSA understands that students on campus, especially those away from home might face challenges adjusting with both work and social culture here in US. MSA strives to act as catalyst and provide, whenever necessary counseling to the students in need. In additions, MSA also counsels students towards safeguarding their civil rights in the US.

Salamu allikum Muslim brothers and sisters,

I'm not sure if all of you have heard about the MSA ( Muslim Students Association) or not but most schools and universities do have their own MSAs. Unfortunately my school doesn't and i was wondering about starting one and my teachers are encouraging me to do so ; however I have no ideas about what sort of activities that we can carry out. Can you please help out? jazakum Allahu khayran
