As salaamu alaikum,

I would like this inquiry to be addressed by one of the scholars on the forum please.

I recently purchased these khuffs from Al-Rashad.com (A online store that is a great benefit to the Ummah, and to me personally for many years now, Alhamdulilah)
http://www.al-rashad.com/Leather-Soc...ck_p_3753.html

I figured the non-leather portion of the khuff that can be plainly seen in the picture was made of some water-resistant material...when I received the khuff it was quickly apparent that it wasn't. I tested that part of the khuff by wetting my hand and merely letting a few drops of water fall on the non-leather portion of the khuff. The water drops were absorbed and the wetness was felt on the inside of the khuff.

I brought this to the attention of Al-Rashad, and they asked a qualified Hanafi Mufti, who said that only the sole need be leather. And this answer was repeated when I asked again if the water-resistant issue was brought. It's not clear to me that they gave him a physical example of the khuff, or just told him about them. I think we are not understanding each other. I only bring this up in public because; 1. I don't have personal access to a Mufti... and 2. these are being publicly sold as good for Masah.
I am nothing close to a scholar, but know masil on khuff and khuff-like non-leather sock well enough to know that this khuff does not meet the requirments. If some scholar on the forum would like me to send them mine, or purchase a pair themselves to test, and then contact Al-Rashad I think that would be good, inshAllah.
Was the wetness felt immediately on the inside? Can you describe how you tested it in a little more detail?
