That's a very brave decision you made. Perhaps with little knowledge about them then some da'wa can be done to them?

just thinking of the rewards for doing any da'wa makes me jealous of you akhi.

Thank you for highlighting my efforts! I do not have enough knowledge as of now, other than what I have read mostly on this website and others, but enough to defend my beliefs if someone raises a point. Of course they know I am from mainstream Islam the moment I stand up for prayers. Actually, tonight I went to the mosque closer to my house and while my next door neighbor is Shia, and I have had many discussions with him, that have left a bad taste in his mouth, although we make up afterwards, he himself said this to me today: "do you want to see something crazy about Shias?" I was like, "what?" He said, "come to the masjid tomorrow and you will see people cutting their heads and hitting themselves with chains." I replied, "what you do is your thing brother and I do not judge people as 'stupid' or 'crazy'." He was embarrassed and said, "you are too nice but I do not support their behavior (self-flagellation)." I said, "well I do not even slap my chest; I just pray, when they start hitting their chests, and leave."

As for those who asked me if I would go to a temple or church, I was raised in India and if anything, I have, while living in India, learned not to take the created as the Creator. That is why no Christian can convince me that Jesus (as) is God. And no Shia can ever convince me that Imams (ra) have knowledge of the unseen and are somewhat divine, or divinely-guided.

Lastly, I do not condone women reciting the Qur'an in presence of brothers NOR DO I PRAY BEHIND THEM LIKE THEY DO. However, we all are accustomed to taking the path of least resistance. We come here, read two topics and form an opinion of Shias. I swim against the flow and go to their masjids to see who they are and what they preach. And I have already mentioned their behavior which are quite anti-thesis to mainstream Islam. I will keep adding more to that list in due time, inshAllah.
