No it is a biography of him apparently as Saad has mentioned above written by an authentic scholar. The quote is by himself, i.e., a direct quote. On the other hand, what you have quoted is a statement that was not made by himself. Do you understand the difference? Biographies can contain direct quotes. In addition to this, what you have quoted is merely what the author thinks is the case. It may very well not be the case. This is true for many other figures including Haji Imdadullah (ra). Secondly, I don't know what you are trying to insinuate here but if you hold Hazrat Haji Imdadullah Muhajir Makki sahib (ra) - the Pir of several of the Deoband akabir - in any respect you can pretty much "wonder" the same about hazrat if you want to. His khulafa were of similar variations.
