It looks like
Masjid al Quran in Dorchester
is a former NOI temple.
Originally named Muhammad's Mosque No. 11, the mosque today includes Africans, Arabs, South Asians, and others, attesting to its evolution from black nationalist stronghold to traditional Sunni mosque
...
When W. D. Mohammed succeeded his father, he abandoned the theology and black supremacist teachings but kept the black pride part and brought his followers into mainstream Islam. Under Imam Shakir Mahmoud , Muhammad's Mosque No. 11 followed along and in 1985 was renamed Masjid Al Quran. I do hope that you can get to this masjid inshaAllah. Not only does it have a tremendous history (being a place where Malcolm X taught!), tt sounds like they have many members who went through what you've current in the midst of - moving from NOI to islam alhamdulilah.
