Assalaamu'alaikum,
Brothers, I am a Barelwi (although not a Rezvi) who believes in istigatha, nooraniat of Rasool-e-kareem (Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam), mawlid as-shareef, qiyaam etc but I place the akabir Ulama of Deoband i.e. Hazrat Aqdas Qasim Nanotwi saheb, Hazrat Gongohi saheb, Hazrat Thanwi saheb, Hazrat Sheikhul Hind, Hazrat Madani saheb etc miles above my head, as do i the Ulama of Barelwi i.e. Ala Hazrat, Mufti Ahmad Yaur Khan saheb, Mufti Amjad Ali Azmi saheb etc. I have so much love for Alahazrat and Hazrat Thanwi saheb that it is possible for me to drown in it. I cannot, in my entire life, be able to explain in words the immense heart-warming love that I feel for both these awliya allah (as I do for the others too). The thirst of my heart is most satisfied by a thread like this wherein such statements of love are expressed from the Ulama of Deoband towards barelwi Shareef. I believe that, although there are extremists on both sides of the court, there is so much more in common between us than what is different. It is unlike the creed of the salafis, jamaaties etc who are totally misguided. The differences between the deobandies and barelwies is a healthy one that can be (and should) be (even slightly) accepted on both sides as both have had outstanding Ulama in the past. Mistakes may have been made, but they are based on incorrect information and can be ignored. I would love it if you would continue to post these amazing stories and also if you could find something similar from the barelwi side. It would be even better if you have an online english version of the book.
Unlike the extremists, my murshid, Shamsul Ulama, Qutbul Alam, Ustadul Ulama, Hazrat Maulana Abdul Latif Choudhury Fultoli saheb (Rahmatullahi 'alay), who needs no introduction to the bengali community, was a true reminiscent of the salaf-us-Saliheen and celebrated the positiveness of both sides, respecting unequivically the Ulama of both sides. May Allah (Subahanahu wata'ala) send more murshids like him and unite the Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah into acknowledging that there is not
only
one correct path but there can be slight, healthy differences within certain boundaries. Certainly, awliyah allah such as Thanwi saheb and to a certain degree Alahazrat need to be repected alot more and abused less and their followers need to follow their examples.
May Allah ('Azzawajall) grant you the tawfeeq to continue this marvellous that you have begun. Ameen
