No one is going to follow the ulamah if they are always blamed for everything that's wrong with the world.

Knowledge is power and the knowledge is with the Ulema. If it was left to the laymen to determine a way out of the messy problems we are in, we'd never get there. The Ulema need to unite against these common problems and start focusing on them and only then will the layman turn his attention towards them. If no one tells us about jihad from the minbar, where are we supposed to go to learn about it? Because high school teachers won't tell us, that's for sure. And if no tells us, pretty sure most won't care about it. Same with Sharia, or khilafa. Go to the common Muslim growing up in the UK and you mention khilafah to the guy and he doesn't know what your talking about, unless he's arab or religious and these two groups do not make up the majority of our UK community

When people only rarely stand up and tell us about the need for an Islamic State or the need to defend the weak but instead focus on whether mawlid is bidah or not, the layman cannot take the majority of the blame for the inactivity of most of the Ummah
