I know some family members who are looking to buy restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, takeaways, launderettes and dry cleaners but they want to have very little involvement with the business and leave the running of the business to the staff with some occasional visits. Does anybody have any suggestions/ideas/experience in this regard

Very risky to leave the running of business to staff. Better option is to be a partner with someone who already have experience in the mentioned fields. Also check the persons previous partners and background.

Being the sole owner and leaving the running of it to the staff is disaster in waiting. Especially restaurant business, because it needs full time management and people can easily screw up.

P.s. I m not a business man.
