Agree,
if they will not devote sufficient time - yes, they can expect disaster. After some time - years - having responsible and reliable person, owner can take short break .... but one of managent/owner role is to keep spirit and perspective of business, which is not easy.
Also decision - which business will they go to - is important - to have any businees is also matter of heart and not only technical thing.
