How can we differentiate between the jalaal which Umar(r.a) possessed and our anger(which is usually the urge of our nafs)?


Brother Tripoly is right. People try to make excuse for getting angry. Also people forget the Mercy in the character of Umar (ra).


As for politeness in commanding the right and forbidding the wrong, it is obligatory. Allah Most High says,

"Speak unto him gentle words"
(Quran 20:44)

(A: this being to Pharaoh, the enemy of Allah, so how then with one's fellow Muslims?)
