The side effects of modern civilization being steered (in the wrong direction) by the west are not hidden from any body. But then some people are very slow to get the direction of the drift. In 1835 Lord Macaulay presented a bill for modulating education in the colonial area. Aim was to produce those eastern educated people who'll have the skin colour of the east but the mind of the west. Guinea pigs robotically serving the imperial interest. What wonderful success he had! Here is a case in point. The recent mobile technology combined with internet is wrecking havoc in people's life. Countries like China are smart (and powerful) enough to control them completely but when Pakistan tries to do, very minor, damage control then the people there do not need the British or the American to be ridiculed.
