How are ulema supposed to make money?

How will quality publishers exist if they don't make money by selling books.

Why don't you publish books free for feesabilillah?

1) By working, like everyone else does.

2) & 3) Salafees are regularly publishing and distributing good-quality free of charge and it is all financed through private donations - so it is indeed possible to spread Islaamic knowledge WITHOUT 'selling the Deen of Allaah'.
