When I think prominent Shafi'i Scholar I think Sheikh Taha Kaaran who is the principle and founder of a Shafi'i madrassah in Strand South Africa. He doesn't have that many lectures online but he has tons of articles. He

is doing a lot of work, I predict that we will see many of his students in the years to come.

Our Hanafi Ulama are doing amazing work and we could always beneifit from them, We will

see more Shafi'i Ulama in the "spotlight" so to say. Shafifiqh.com is the most reliable and if I'm not mistaken it's also run by Sheikh Taha's students.
