I have some friends who have got PhDs and are teaching in co-educational universities now. Their salaries are good , vacations are long and social prestige is also great !!

I am tempted to follow their path. However , I would like to know the Islamic
viewpoint on this.

I mean , when the female students are in the class or in the lab, how will I interact with them ?

Ofcourse it is haram. Any social mixing of the opposite sexes is haram. Not only university, working in any office which have both males and females is employees is haram.
