I am doing some preliminary research on the subject of evil eye and black magic and I have come across some very good material. But the main deficiency I am encountering is identifying with absolute certainty whether one is afflicted by black magic or evil eye. I even once heard that there are certain rituals or methods one can use to test himself for black magic or evil eye but haven't found anything conclusive yet. If any of the knowledgeable brothers and sisters have any good links, books or lectures that delve into detail about the specific symptoms of black magic and evil eye, your help will be deeply appreciated.

i was affected by black magic and i often doubted whether it was all in my head etc. however i sought ruqyah treatment from various raqis, one even saying i head multiple personality disorder! my doctors hadnt even said such a thing or even close to it(only depression). alhamdulilah my husband and family had reassured me it was nonsense.

any way QadarAllah i sought ruqyah witha raqi who put it very simply for me, may Allah reward him.he had said that quran is a shifa for us so does not cause us any harm. if your body/mind experiences some kind of pain, negative symptoms (even a small pang or shudder)whilst listening to quran then it is a spiritual rather than medical problem.

this however doesnt mean reading quran for 10mins as many raqis do. shaytan often tries to surpress itself from reacting, so a good raqi will recite for a long time to ensure this isnt the case. break the shaytan down with Allahs speech and mercy.
