I have been told by Turkish dervişler (murideen) that the Ottomans used to build masaajid in the state of wudhu, according to them this is the reason why one feels more barakah when praying in one of the ancient Ottoman masaajid than praying in the new masaajid which are built by people without wudhu, open-sinners, etc..

And Allah ta'ala knows best.
