Just to think how many nowadays wouldn't even understand that concept.. or would class a viewpoint like that as 'innovative', etc.

The stories of Ulama & Mashaykh treasuring relics from Makkah & Madina are countless. Mashaykh even treasured the date-seeds from Madina and showed Adab towards them.

There are incidents narrated in one or 2 of Shaykh Zulfiqar (d.b.)'s books that show the reverence in which our elders held Madinah Al-Munawwara. Some beautiful stories.
