I think that the problem is that, unlike other Muslim majority countries, Saudi Arabia actually presents itself as a Muslim country. They act as if they are a Sharia state, and their fake scholars (i.e. Madkhalis) praise them to no end, and have a large enough following in the West, where many Muslims are fooled into thinking that Saudi Arabia is a model nation for others to follow.
