Alhamdullilah i was able to perform Umrah 2 weeks ago and this has been my second visit to the Holy lands, the first being in December 1999. I was not impressed at all by this building. The atmosphere in Makkah has changed so much. The people much ruder then they were previously, all the sky scrapers and ongoing construction leaves one with a bad after taste of the modern 'lifestyle' which we in the west want to run away from.

One can look at these building for only a few seconds and then look away. But the Holy Kaaba, one can stare at for hours on end without getting board or tired.

This same Makkah towers hosts a Baskin Robins on almost every floor, 'Espirit' clothing store with western clothing designs being displayed in the shop window. Shop keepers who have long forgotten what Islamic buyoo is all about...

I don’t want to write more! It’s just so disappointing!
