السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
I have heard some tableeghi brothers (including a very senior person, who however is not an alim) quote the ayah “...انفروا خفافا و ثقالا"
"Go forth, light and heavily armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah" 9:41 in order to emphasize that people should go out in jamath. no matter what their condition is.

However, Hazrath Shaykh (رحمه الله) mentions in Hikayat-e-Sahaba that the above ayah and the ayah إلاّ تنفروا يعذّبكم عذابا أليما "If you go not forth, He will afflict you with a painful doom" 9:39

have been abrogated by the ayah that begins with

... و ما كان المؤمنون لينفروا كافّة
"And the believers should not all go out (in the path of Allah). Of every group of them, a party only should go forth that they (who are left behind) may gain sound knowledge and that they may warn their folk when they come to them, so that they may beware" (9:122)

Could the ulema of the forum please clarify this matter.
