In principle, I get Maulana Taliban's point. Although my husband travels much all over the world for a number if reasons and I am also fortunate to have travelled to a few places, nowadays, the only holiday I want to take is to Makkah and Madina. Every time, the family resolve to go anywhere I think to myself, 'If I save up this much more, I can go to for Umrah again next year instead.' Everything else pales in comparison.

Local and national trips; we take many, mostly to educate or entertain the kids or whilst traveling for another reason, we make it a day out. But going abroad and spending so much money in just going places is not my cup of tea. I can't afford it anyway. It gets boring after a bit and we both feel restless to get back to the list of things waiting for us at home. Why waste time and money that we dont have?

Having said that, occasionally, mid-year, one really does need a break. If money was not a problem, a weekend away from the hullabaloo of daily life can be quite refreshing and recharging- taking into consideration all halal and haram, of course.
