I'm noticing a trend these days of "enriching" an otherwise mediocre nashid by using loads of instruments and even women singers. The effect just puts me off.

I find myself wishing for well-written nashid with just a few instruments. That Burda is a good example, and also "Ya Allah" from the Laya Project (although my friends wonder why I'm listening to a Telegu nashid).
