seems there is no problem with the imam restarting thev salaah after making wudhu, so the shaikh did it correctly mashAllah

Well let me show you something interesting,

حدثنا ‏ ‏حسن بن موسى ‏ ‏حدثنا ‏ ‏ابن لهيعة ‏ ‏حدثنا ‏ ‏الحارث بن يزيد ‏ ‏عن ‏ ‏عبد الله بن زرير الغافقي ‏ ‏عن ‏ ‏علي بن أبي طالب ‏ ‏رضي الله عنه ‏ ‏قال ‏
‏بينما نحن مع رسول الله ‏ ‏صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ ‏نصلي إذ انصرف ونحن قيام ثم أقبل ورأسه يقطر فصلى لنا الصلاة ثم قال ‏ ‏إني ذكرت أني كنت ‏ ‏جنبا ‏ ‏حين قمت إلى الصلاة لم أغتسل فمن وجد منكم في بطنه ‏ ‏رزا ‏ ‏أو كان على مثل ما كنت عليه فلينصرف حتى يفرغ من حاجته أو غسله ثم يعود إلى صلاته ‏
‏حدثنا ‏ ‏يحيى بن إسحاق ‏ ‏حدثنا ‏ ‏ابن لهيعة ‏ ‏عن ‏ ‏الحارث بن يزيد ‏ ‏عن ‏ ‏عبد الله بن زرير ‏ ‏عن ‏ ‏علي ‏ ‏رضي الله عنه ‏ ‏فذكر ‏ ‏مثله ‏ al-Hassan ibn Musa told us, Ibn Luhaya'ah told us, al-Harith bin Yazid told us from 'Abdullah ibn al-Zubair al-Ghafiqi, from 'Ali ibn abi Talib (ra) that he narrated:
While we were with the Prophet SAWS praying, He suddenly left and we were in the position of Qiyam then came back with his head dripping with water, He then led us in the prayer and when we finished he faced us and said: "I had remembered that I was in a state of Janabah(uncleanliness) and I did not wash myself when I went for the prayer, so whoever among you feels a strange feeling in his stomach or gets into the same situation as me then he should leave and do what he needs to do and wash up then return to the prayer."
Yahya bin Ishaq told us, Ibn Luhaya'ah told us, from al-Harith bin Yazid from 'Abdullah bin Zurayr, from 'Ali ibn abi Talib (ra) and he mentioned it.

أقيمت الصلاة وعدلت الصفوف قياما ، فخرج إلينا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ، فلما قام في مصلاه ، ذكر أنه جنب ، فقال لنا : مكانكم . ثم رجع فاغتسل ، ثم خرج إلينا ورأسه يقطر ، فكبر فصلينا معه . Abu Huraira (ra) narrated:Once the call (Iqama) for the prayer was announced and the rows were straightened. Allah's Apostle SAWS came out; and when he stood up at his Musalla, he remembered that he was Junub. Then he ordered us: "stay at your places" and went to take a bath and then returned with water dripping from his head. He said, "Allahu-Akbar", and we all offered the prayer with him.

أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم دخل في صلاته وكبرنا معه فأشار إلى القوم أن كما أنتم فلم نزل قياما حتى أتانا نبي الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قد اغتسل ورأسه يقطر ماء Anas ibn Malik (ra) narrated: The Prophet SAWS started his prayer and we made Takbeer with him, then he signaled us to stay as we are, so we remained in the position of Qiyam until he returned to us after he washed and his head was dripping with water.

So my brothers what you just saw in the video above is sort of an after image, it's a Sunnah come to life Masha-Allah and it was beautiful.
