CI just searched and came accross some which referred to Muhammad (saw) in the English translation as "master" and I would like to know whether that is permissible. I thought Allah ta'ala alone is our master. Please help me out if I understand something wrong. I am still a new Muslim and, due to my crazy thoughts, don't want to make a mistake here.

The problem is with translating "Sayyid" as "Master/Lord", and the general implications that this word has in European languages.

But in Arabic is completely fine; there are ahadith in which the Prophet himself said he's the "Sayyid" of the sons of Adam (alayhi assalam).
