You are correct in your assumption. You will not find truer in speech than the word of Allah [Qur'an] and you will not find better guidance than that of Prophet [Sunnah] peace and blessings be upon him.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have left among you that which if you take it, you will never stray after me: the Book of Allah and my Sunnah.
