the guider helper maliki fiqh manual, written by abu qanit based on the classical text THE HELPING GUIDE of ibn 'ashir, says the following

"Large articles of clothing (shirt/jacket/coat) that are part silk and part some other material are also unlawful to wear for men. As for small articles of clothing (TIE/button/handkerchief) which is made of silk, it is permissible."
[footnote 2192]

wallahu a'lam
You can find this fatwa by Shaykh Abdullah calling it haram since a tie bigger than a finger size:

As for badges of silk on ones clothing, there is agreement that if
the size of the silk badge is equal to the size (in width) of a
finger of the average human being then it is permissible. But they
differ with regard to more than that up to 4 fingers. Some say that
from 1 to 4 is permissible. Others say that from 2 to 4 is disliked.
As for more than 4 fingers width, they all agree that it is
forbidden to wear.

So the question is: what is the source in the Maliki works saying it is allowed for small items?
