One of the greatest Hanbali scholars and senior scholar of Sa'udi Arabia namely Shaikh `Abdullah bin `Aqeel (

) has passed away. He was one of the last remaining students of Shaykh Abdur Rahmaan Ibn Nasir As-Sa'dee, who was the main teacher of Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen (rahimahumullah).

A brother in another forum reports :

The Shaykh would spend the 'white days' of every month in Makkah, making Umrah, fasting, teaching and entertaining his students and guests in his room. May Allah have mercy on him, he would be fasting in the mid-summer, in the Haram in the non-AC section, teaching students before and after the prayers, without complaining once. Despite of his old age and weakness, he would insist on praying standing.

May Allah have mercy on all of our shuyukh that have passed away.
