I was born a muslim and believe in Allah and the teachings of Islam. I know of an agnostic - who I would like to introduce islam to - but I feel that I have not got enough knowledge or the eloquence to deal with some of the questions that this brother brings up.

Questions like - why does allah care if he already knows the plan for humans?
Will Allah then punish all those people that are not muslim - like the orphan whose parents died?
Why is there so much hurt and anger in the world?
Why is it that Islam and muslims think they are the superior religion? Why does Islam come across so arrogant?

If you can help me with these questions I would be grateful - or I would be even more greatful if there was a brother that could perhaps speak to him?

Thank you for reading this post and i look forward to your responses

why does allah care if he already knows the plan for humans? So the question implies something incorrect as a premise.

- Knowing does not negate care.

Will Allah then punish all those people that are not muslim - like the orphan whose parents died?

- No. Children are certainly not punished. (In Paradise, there will be children around Ibrahim 'alaihis-salam. Among them will also be the children of polytheists who died when they were young.) [Bukhari]. However if the orphan grows up and is an accountable adult, and Islam reaches him, and he rejects. Then yes, and in this case we're not talking about an orphan, we're talking about an accountable adult. If he commits murder, you cant excuse him and say oh hes an orphan.

Why is there so much hurt and anger in the world?

- The whole world from the beginning to the end amounts to nothing in terms of reality and eternal hell or heaven. In mathmatics, infinity - 9999 trillion = infinity, and 9999 trillion amounts to zero. That said, nothing will go without justice in the end. Theres a hadeeth (i'll look it up later, in a hurry now), that says the happiest man on earth whos a disbeliever will be dipped into hell and asked "Have you ever seen good?" he will say, no. Likewise, the saddest most devistated believer on earth will be dipped into heaven and asked, have you ever seen bad? he will say no. I'll look up the hadeeth later insha'Allah. However like I said, in terms of eternity, of heaven and hell, this world doesnt amount to much. Thats why we work for the afterlife.

Why is it that Islam and muslims think they are the superior religion? Why does Islam come across so arrogant?

- because its true and unaltered. Muslims are people and far from perfect. But the religion is unaltered, and from God. Thinking that a religion is superior only for worldy gains is a flawed view of religion, as the concept of it is much deeper than that. Why does Islam come accross as arrogant? Arrogance is a human trait, not one of religion. Im not sure where he gets his information. But he might see Islam as arrogant for claiming to be true? If thats the case, hes the one being arrogant.
