Its called politicising relegion. I am yet to find any organisation that is not involved in such politics be in USA or Europe. Perhaps in USA it is more subtle but it exist never the less. With all our negative trait, we have more institute grounded in orthodoxy then USA. In US, people opt for more of entertainment culture of deen.

I am averse to American or forigne based scholar comming to UK and telling us how to do things. Often these people don't understand the culture or the atmosphere and make things worse. With due respect The likes of Shaikh Tawfiq Chaudhury, Yassir Qadhi, Haza Yusuf would do well focus there energy in their country of residents. None is saying not to invite them but they should not be given platform constantly to tell us what is and what is not.

Allahualam

No doubt. I think the scholarship in the UK is at a much higher level than it is in America. Also, the Muslim community is much more established. That's why I am so surprised. I hardly ever hear of Muslims (or people with Muslim names) committing horrific crimes like that in the US (I'm referring to rapists, pimps, gangsters, etc). Of course they do bad things, but not that bad.
