This perfectly normal if your shiekh tells you a bit about your past. Dont forget we are the ummat of prophet muhammad Saw and not limited to the ummati of the other prophets. I can understand if you think like most people they have got jinns etc to tell you about things. As you may know about the story of prophet musa A.S when he got his prophet hood and his ego kicked in thinking he had all the knowledge, then Hazrat Khizr A,S came and told him things that even prophet musa didnt know about and explained to him yes you maybe prophet of allah swt but the friends of allah can communicate directly, this Ilm Is Known As Ilm-e-Laduni. The ilm you have doesnt mean i must have it but what i have doesnt mean i have to have yours. Hazrat khizr badshah was ummati of prophet muhammad saw and took bayt spiritually with prophet muhammad saw and didnt marry or do anything but look after his mother in syria and submitted him self to allah swt. the example im giving is there is divine knowledge that has been based down through the tariqa and this divine knowledge is gained through sufism or transfered from your shiekh to you when giving bayt but its down to our indivisual ibaadat to unluck those within ourselves. Oh just to make clear ilm-e-laduni is the highest ranked ilm one can gain in sufism not to say his shiekh has it but there our others divine ilms aswell. Jazallah
