MAKKAH: The Makkah municipality, as part of the Eid celebrations, has organized Chinese circus shows on Wednesday evening in the holy city.
The show will be held at the Al-Wehda sports club in Al-Taneem district. The circus is likely to be attended by a large crowd of residents, especially children. The area is outside the boundaries of the holy city.
The Chinese circus will have two shows: the first one will be from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. and the second from 9.30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The branch municipalities in Makkah have also organized events in its own area respectively as part of their Eid celebrations. The Aziziyah municipality will host traditional folklore dances and special entertainment programs for children who will be given gifts and presents on Wednesday evening.
The celebrations will be held at the Al-Hussainiyah park near King Abdullah Medical City.
The Al-Shawqiyyah branch municipality will do the same for its residents at the Um Al-Kidad park while the Al-Otaibiyah branch municipality will hold its Eid celebrations at the car park area of Souk (market) Al-Hijaz.
The Makkah Eid celebrations will also include fireworks in all these areas. The celebrations will continue until midnight.

MAKKAH: On Wednesday and Thursday evenings, Makkah residents were treated to a performance by a Chinese circus. The shows, which were held in the holy city for the first time, will conclude Friday.
The circus put on its performances at Al-Wehdah Sports Club’s theater located in Al-Taneem district.
This is outside the boundaries of the holy precincts
, so there was no issue in inviting non-Muslim performers. Under Islamic law, non-Muslims are not allowed to enter the holy city.
The acrobatic feats in the circus were performed by 20 young Chinese men, whose strength, flexibility and precision dazzled the audience — young and old alike.
Eid celebrations were also held in other locations, including the car park on the Makkah-Jeddah Expressway.
More than 10,000 spectators attended the celebrations in which folklore troupes from Egypt, Yemen and Syria presented their traditional cultural dances.
Special programs, including competitions for children, were also held during which gifts were distributed.
The Aziziyah municipality hosted folklore dances and special entertainment programs for children at Al-Hussainiyah park near King Abdullah Medical City Wednesday evening. Other branch municipalities organized events in their respective areas.
Makkah Mayor Osama Al-Bar, said the celebrations, which started on Wednesday, the second day of Eid, would continue for four days.
