The problem is those who keep the beard (not all) often try to impose the superiority over those who dont

To be honest I care less about these minute issues. We have bigger matters at hand that need our energy and time ...

again each to his own.
In matters of Shari'ah, who are we to decide what is more important than anything else unless specifically mentioned in ahadeeth or the Qur'an? Showing off and acting superior is human nature. Many beardless people act superior if they are more active in the community or if they know something that a bearded person does not. Some bearded people are also merely disguising their sick interiors with a sunnah exterior, but as we know, it is a lot easier to change oneself externally than it is internally. It is a lot easier to grow a beard than to stop listening to music. It is a lot easier to grow a beard than to stop engaging illegally with the opposite sex. It is a lot easier to grow a beard than to even pray 5 times a day! It's not even something we do actively, but something that is passive, that happens by itself, yet we mutilate our face so that it becomes more appealing to the Western eye. We do this and that to our faces so that it looks less and less like the face of our beloved Prophet . Do we hate his face so much?!

It takes more energy to cut the beard than to let it grow so, as you say, we have more important issues to deal with, maybe we could spend less time and energy in trying to look like some non-Muslim and more time working towards common goals.
