Question of behalf of a sister:

"-My last period started on the 29th july and on that day I started taking for the first time the contraceptive pill. That period continued for more than 10 days. It usually lasts for about 5,6 days, but the gynecologist told me it is likely to last longer when you start taking the pill.

-I also had some extra bleeding approximately between the 16th and 19th July. I believe this is "spotting" caused by the pill, another common side effect.

-I stopped taking the pill after finishing the first package on friday 19th. The gynecologist told me I would have had my periods during this week before starting the second package as the menstrual cycle is 21 days.

Since I was having those extra discharges, I am not sure the blood I have now is menstrual, however I think so, because it's been more and continuous since friday 19/saturday 20.
Because of all this, I don't know exactly when this period I am having now has started and I don't know if I should fast or not".
