Im still confused, i also read that we cant leave the place we choose (inside our house) for even a minute (unnecessarily) otherwise it'll make the itikaaf null and void? If I told a friend i intend to go for itikaaf this month, will that make the itikaaf compulsory then? Another thing, (this is kinda off topic) I asked a shaykh if it's permissible to pray taraweeh in the masjid, he said, no it's not. Is the masjid completely forbidden (all acts of ibadah/halaqa etc) or just for taraweeh?
