As-Salaamu ‘alaykum wa-Rahmatullah

I had once listened to a talk by Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel (Rahmatullah Alayh) and the respected Shaykh gave an excellent and beautiful analogy in regards to the Muslim who is weak in his faith, actions and character, and a Non-Muslim who is occupied in service to the creation and other good deeds.

Hazrat Maulana (RA) explained something as follows :

“We have money which is genuine and money which is counterfeit. If someone has a $100 note which is old, crumpled and even torn, but it is genuine, it will be valid for use.
The government accepts such a note.

If a person has a brand-new, clean, crisp, $100 note but it is counterfeit, the government will reject it.

Similarly, the Muslim can be ‘torn and crumpled’ in his character and in regards to good deeds, but due to his Imaan, he is accepted in the Court of Allah Ta’ala. He will enter Jannat – even though it may be a delayed entry.

The Non- Muslim can have the best of character and can be engaged in many good deeds, but he is like that counterfeit note, not worth anything (due his disbelief) – and will thus be rejected by Allah Ta’ala.
He will not be accepted for Jannat.

The non-Muslim commits “High Treason” with his Kufr or Shirk, and this exceeds all other crimes or limits of disobedience, for which there can be no bail or parole – i.e. from Jahannum.”

Allah Ta’ala guide and save us all.

• Imaan is not complete without Belief in the Prophet-hood of Muhammad (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa-Sallam). Don’t we testify with the words: “THERE IS NONE WORTHY OF WORSHIP EXCEPT ALLAH AND MUHAMMAD IS HIS MESSENGER.” ?
