Salams,

This might be overly difficult to implement. I think this may have to be a paid service. This will not only compensate the people who will have a huge task in upholding the integrity of the forum, but also deter people who are just not serious. The prospect of having to pay something (even if it's small) will stop people from signing on to mess around.

Great idea mashaAllah. DEFINETLY have it paid, BUT have the possibility of making it free for people who can't pay, but they would have to write a letter and submit it, and depending on whether the board thinks it is a genuine reason, it would be accepted. The moment you put something free, people will not take it seriously, and especially with something like marriage, there are alot of people willing to mess their time around.

A sister went to marriage event held in Birmingham two weeks ago and mentioned that there were sooo many brothers and sisters (mostly professionals) that it was difficult to even get around. So this sort of thing would be more than welcome, and for whoever running it, it could be a good source of income too (There is nothing wrong with that)!

Btw this is slightly off topic, but I have a site designed of this kind (php, mysql and css used), that basically takes a user's profile, shows matches based on preferences, allows one to search etc, but doesn't show anyone's emails, but allows a user to email via the website the wali of the posted user you are interested in, and then things can be taken forward from that. Not the best idea, but is workable (I did it a couple of years back). Anyhow, if anyone wants it, send me an email. It is well designed but may need slight updating to match reuqirements.
