we had something similar at univeristy although it was aimed at the Muslim student's rather than non-muslims, the brother's all came in islamic attire and the sisters who did not wear hijaab wore hijaab for a week and those who wore hijaab but no niqaab wore the niqaab for a week.

I think its helpful because many people are more afraid of people's reactions and shaytan makes it seem a lot harder than it actually is
This way they get to see how it feels and not be the odd one out as other sisters/brothers will do doing the same thing
