Default What to do if two non-Islamic sources conflict

I got a brilliant compass watch with a leather band as a gift. I wanted to check if the leather was a non-pig by product. Upon a quick search found that it was explicitly listed as "leather-pig-skin" on amazon. Then I asked the manufacturer about it mentioning also the info on amazon. Their reply was:

"We have checked with our manufacturer of this band and the leather is cowhide, not pigskin. This was an error by Amazon when they listed this as being pigskin because we only use cowhide for our leather bands. We are requesting Amazon to correct their information. We are sorry you received incorrect information concerning our Timex watch bands. We do not use pig-skin for any band parts.

xxx Customer Service & OPM Support
Timex Group USA, Inc. "
It's been two weeks since this email, but the info on amazon is still the same.
  1. Which info should be considered correct?
  2. What ahkam applies if someone prays his Salat with pig-skin banded watch?
  3. What ahkam applies if someone prays his Salat with pig-skin belt?
  4. What ahkam applies if someone prays his Salat with unknown leather belt or wallet?
