Brother Muadh, are these normal cotton socks which can be comfortably worn with sneakers or dress shoes? Or are they extremely thick and made for winter or hiking? If possible post some pics lol.

This topic is important to me because sometimes and I go to pray salah in jamah and I know the imam did masah on cotton socks, so I end up having to repeat my salah.

Br. Muadh is this the case with Hanafis? i mean can i wear and do Masah on those socks named 'Wilson' and would it be accepted in Hanafiyya Maddhab?

Maybe Mufti Soofi saheb may shed some Light on this topic.

The solution to this issue is very simple:

Lets recap the conditions…

1. It stays up for itself on the feet.

2. A person can walk with these socks (alone) to a distance of three miles without the socks being torn. (Its actually 1 mile in Quduri & other books)

3. It is so thick that water is not able to seep through the socks to enter the feet when masah is made.

4. A person is not able to see his feet through the socks.

Go to your nearest Sportswear shop and buy one of the thicker Cotton/Acrylic Sports socks and test condition number 2, most socks will meet and beat it

Now most people will sit and debate about this issues, buy the socks, test it & report back to Soofi_Saheb or Mufti Yusuf Sacha or any other Mufti and THEN seek a Fatwa.

P.S: Buy the reinforced ones and you are good to go. We wore it for years in the Military and if you can tear it in 1 mile of walking congradulations to you
