I unwittingly picked up a copy of this from the Masjid bookstore during my Shafi'i days. I read the commentary, and was greatly disturbed by a good deal of it. I brought it to my Sheikh, Muhammad Nur Abdullah, and he just broke out his little ballpoint pen and spent a good deal of time editing and crossing out the "commentary" (**** is more like it) that was printed with the text and adding margin notes for me.

I now have a highly annotated and edited copy of Riyadh us-Saliheen
